Pluus is feminien, kwetsbaar en krachtig

'Jouw zo kenmerkende en herkenbare stijl: feminien, dynamisch, intiem, liefdevol, melancholisch, alliërend, leven, dood en vooral grenzeloos energiek. Mensen, bloemen, blaadjes, maakt niet uit wat het is, maar steeds onderwerpen die iedereen binnen zichtafstand om zich heen heeft. Je werk (tot heden) overziend voelt het alsof je vanalles in je omgeving, je binnenste kringetje, aan het onderzoeken bent. Opvallend is dat er eigenlijk nooit een resultaat, conclusie, of nog erger: een oordeel boven komt drijven. Ondanks dat je werk heel persoonlijk is, is het geen egodocument.

Moeder. Over hoe kwetsbaar en krachtig moeders zijn. Een expositie, een roman met tekeningen, beelden en foto's.

200 Bloemen. Tweehonderd foto's van bloemen, om  je eraan te herinneren dat er veel mooi is op deze wereld.

Reacties op Moeder (roman):

De kracht om de bijzondere momenten in het normale te zien heb je altijd gehad en ook om naar jezelf en de wereld te kijken en vlijmscherpe observatie in taal om te zetten. Kleine dingetjes die ik mooi vond: de moeder die zegt: je moet. Het meisje dat klein werd omdat ze nooit boos werd en het altijd maar moeten blijven glimlachen.

'Het boek heeft een grote indruk op me gemaakt. Je slaagt er erg goed in om de ontreddering, de wanhoop, de moed, de pijn, de liefde, het verdriet en al die andere emoties die met dat moederschap gepaard gaan weer te geven in een eenvoudig, plotloos verhaal. De afbeeldingen helpen daar goed bij. Het is een eerlijk, op een of andere manier erg naakt boek. En dat raakt.'

'Your characteristic and recognizable style: feminine, dynamic, intimate, loving, melancholic, allying, life, death, and above all, boundlessly energetic. People, flowers, leaves—it doesn't matter what it is, but always subjects that everyone has within sight. Looking back at your work (to date), it feels as if you are investigating all sorts of things in your surroundings, your inner circle. It is striking that a result, conclusion, or even worse: a judgment never actually surfaces. Despite your work being very personal, it is not an ego document.

Reactions to Mother (novel):

You have always had the strength to see the special moments in the ordinary, and also to look at yourself and the world and translate razor-sharp observation into language. Little things I liked: the mother who says: you have to. The girl who became small because she never got angry, and the need to always keep smiling.

You succeed very well in portraying the disarray, the despair, the courage, the pain, the love, the grief, and all those other emotions that go hand in hand with motherhood. in a simple, plotless story.
